Deborah Williams, a local resident, and teacher of Public Lands – Law and Policy in the Environmental Studies Department at UCSB has created a new website that highlights interesting places to walk or hike. The website is designed to introduce community members to many wonderful places to visit and enjoy in and around Santa Barbara. Emphasis is on public lands close-by, but you will also find numerous special areas to explore within 300 miles of Santa Barbara County. Typically, distances are measured from the UCSB Campus.
The home page features a way to search for locations to walk or hike. Many of the destinations offer walks that may be considered to be not easy by everyone. The site does not offer difficulty ratings. Do your own research to determine whether a location is suitable for your situation.
