Forest Bathing | January

Description

Studies of forest therapy show that the practice can provide a wide range of health and wellness benefits. On your walk, Certified Forest Therapy Guide Carrie Drevenstedt will offer a series of invitations to guide you in finding your own way of immersing yourself in the natural world. Our forest bathing walk will be highly accessible, covering no more than a half-mile on a gentle trail at a leisurely pace. The walk will end with healthy snacks and a tea made from local edible plants.

Please arrive 10 minutes before class at the main entrance. Class begins promptly at 8:30am. For your comfort, consider wearing warm layers, study shoes with tread, a hat and sunscreen, and bringing a small pad or camping stool to sit on.

Pre-registration required. No walk ins. Limited space available. Please call Registrar at 805-682-4726 ext 102

Instructor

Carrie Drevenstedt based in Ventura, is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). She holds an M.S. in Neuroscience and has pursued a winding career in healthcare. Over time, she discovered her own medicine in returning to nature and connecting with the forest. Her perspective on health has led to a life-long pursuit to inspire people to advocate for their own wellness by spending time in the natural world, walking through green spaces, wading in streams, digging in the soil, and sitting under trees.
