After a climb, it provides beautiful views of the Reserve from Lisque Mesa. You learn about some of the key research that goes on at Sedgwick. This route is 2.5 miles and has about 250 feet of elevation change. It is considered slightly harder than our easiest trails because it includes a steep ascent and descent. To go on this hike you should be able to walk up 25 flights of stairs.

Registration required. Visit web site: https://sedgwick.nrs.ucsb.edu/store/April-13-2024-c165736253

Enrollment is limited to 20 adults.

Pet Policy: Please leave your dog at home. They are not allowed on the trails, and the parking area is not shaded.

These are docent-led, interpretive hikes, and while you will get some miles under your feet, they move at a naturalist's pace. You will learn about flora, fauna, geology, history, and more as you immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of this beautiful landscape. Our experienced docent guides lead multiple levels of hikes to accommodate a diversity of abilities, from easy to strenuous. In the event of rain, hikes will be canceled via e-mail the day before.
